In the latest edition of the Best Global Universities Rankings, the UPC has been ranked among the world’s top 100 universities in the field of Engineering (74th) and in three subjects: Civil Engineering (42nd), Computer Science (53rd) and Electrical and Electronic Engineering (72nd).
The Best Global Universities Rankings, also known as the U.S. News rankings, are published by U.S. News & World Report and powered by Clarivate Analytics. These rankings are based on several indicators that measure universities’ research performance and reputation, and sort them by global rank, field and subject.
In the general classification, the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech (UPC) ranks among the world’s 500 best universities (497th). In the ranking tables for Engineering, the UPC is rated 74th in the world and 1st in Spain. In the rankings by subject, it is listed among the world’s 100 best universities for Civil Engineering (42nd), Computer Science (53rd) and Electrical and Electronic Engineering (72nd). The UPC is also ranked as the best Spanish university for Civil Engineering and Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
Four additional UPC subjects are listed in the U.S. News rankings: Mathematics (169th), Materials Science (256th), Chemistry (476th) and Physics (551st).
