Managing speaker presentations painlessly by RDlab
What is CloudSlide?
It is a web platform that simplifies the management of presentations for events such as conferences, workshops or congresses. It takes charge of gathering slides from the speakers, enforce deadlines and oversee uploads. At the scheduled time the presentations will be delivered through Internet to the appropriate show rooms.
Organizing an event/conference is usually painful. Manual management in a “do it yourself” basis is time consuming and unmanageable. Fortunately, speaker presentations' upload and management is a task that can be performed in an unattended-but-supervised way thanks to CloudSlide.
CloudSlide provides a full environment to gather, control and distribute presentations in a secure and flexible way, relieving the organizer from this tedious obligation.
How does it work?
Cloudslide offers a friendly, as well as intuitive, web interface for organizers which allows to import an Easy Chair compatible congress schedule or CSV file.
This information is processed in order to offer speakers a secure OwnCloud disk space where they can upload their presentations and supporting files up to 15m from the start of their talk or up to the desired deadline.
IT/Room clerks run a one-time-only five-minutes configuration at room computers so they will automatically download those files right before the presentation starts. Once the presentation ends, files will be automatically deleted. This process is autonomously done throughout all the event.
Who has used CloudSlide so far?
It has been successfully used in two international events: SODA17 and BPM2017.
